Jailbreaking of a smartphone is all about changing the OS, but this is not the case in jailbreaking a Firestick. In fact, you cannot actually ‘jailbreak’ the Firestick devices. So, in case of a Firestick, this actually is installing some third-party apps which will let you gain access to unlimited content even without a premium account. The most popular mode of doing it is to install Kodi on the Firestick.

You may be seeing vendors offering jailbroken Firesticks, which doesn’t mean they have rooted these devices, but that they have installed Kodi or similar applications. Amazon Firestick is Android-based, which is now the most popular mobile operating system featuring millions of custom-built apps. Installing apps on Firestick is not difficult, and with a little effort, you can do it by yourself.

Jailbroken Firestick is legal, so jailbreaking your Firestick with a third-party application is also legal. This process doesn’t need to edit the device operating system code, so there is also no worry about the warranty.

    How to jailbreak

    • Open settings at Firestick home screen and select device.
    • Go to the developer options
    • Enable the “ADB debugging.”
    • Also, enable “Allow apps from Unknown sources.”
    • Get back to the menu and select ‘Search.’
    • Type “” on the search field
    • Click on “Get” in order to get the Downloader.
    • Open the downloader app.
    • In the URL field, type http://kodi.tv/download.
    • Choose ‘Download’ option.
    • From the list of Kodi applications, download Android APK.
    • Choose the 32-bit option.
    • Wait for the download to complete.
    • Click Install.
