After explaining how to backup and recover backups of Cloud Servers and Dedicated Servers Arsy s, we focus now on the main features and functionalities of the solution Cloud Backup Arsys, you provide complete management of our policy backup copies in all types of systems, web projects and devices.
Creation of the service
Before starting, it is important to mention that it is possible to register the backup service in the Cloud, something that we can do directly from the section or, if we already have some service, from the Client Area or from the Cloudbuilder Next Panel in the case of Cloud Servers and Dedicated Servers. In this way, we will have a centralized solution for access to backup copies of all our servers and devices.
Backup package
During the contracting we can define the capacity of the backup package available for the backup service. There is no need to worry about scalability, since we can reassign space according to demand at any time. Thanks to the Arsys Cloud, the storage space available for the service is practically unlimited.
As a launch promotion, we can get a free backup package of up to 10 GB of storage for our copies. Of course, there are many plans with various storage capacities at very competitive prices. Even, if desired, it is possible to contract the payment for use, which is invoiced per GB per month.
Access to the panel
From the Arsys website we can access the control panel of the backup service, authenticating with our client user and then accessing the Cloud backup link , among the services we have contracted. As we mentioned before, it is also possible to access from the Cloudbuilder Next panel, if we have a Dedicated Server or a Cloud Server.
In the backup panel we can resize the backup package at any time, as well as access the so-called backup console, which allows us to manage our backups with a detailed personalization and management of the operation of the service.
Backup agent
From the control panel we can also download the backup agent , in Linux and Windows versions, which is basically a program for backing up servers and serves to communicate our machines with the backup service. The backup agent must be installed once on the server where backups are required. From then on, we can configure copies in a completely customized way for our servers, from the backup console.
Backup console
Through the link Backup Console we will access this friendly interface to centrally configure and manage all copies made on all computers, servers or devices that we have.
On the left side of the console we find a menu with the main options:
Devices . Here is a list of all the devices that we currently have available for management through the Cloud Backup service. You can also add devices, which could be of different types:
Personal computers Windows, Mac or Linux.
Windows and Linux servers.
IOS and Android mobile devices.
Virtualization hosts (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or Virtuozzo.
Even applications such as SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server or Active Directory.
In addition, it is also possible to include options to add devices manually, thanks to the registration of a code obtained during the installation of the backup agent or a registration token for automated agent deployments.
Once the devices are added, it is possible to configure the backup service in a very granular way, with criteria such as the following:
What you want to copy (all the server, certain folders …)
How often should a copy be made?
The time the copies will remain in the backup space
If you want to encrypt the backup copy
Backups. From here we can manage all backup copies of all systems involved in the backup service, in a centralized manner. From here we can also perform the necessary operations for the restoration of backup copies.
Activities. The activity panel shows a record of all the actions performed in the backup service. This list is important, since the backup processes are done in an automated way. This way we will be able to appreciate a record of all the activities that day after day are taking place of disk data recovery.
Alerts. The alerts allow us to find out in a comfortable way of any anomalous situation that is happening, or that has happened, in the backup service. For example, we could know that a specific device is not being copied, or how many days it has not been copied from a specific server. For greater ease, the alerts are also configurable, so the administrator can establish the criteria before which he wants to be notified.
Configuration. In this section we access additional configurations about the service, being able to perform actions and configurations in each system on which we have the backup agent installed.
